Bedstuy Brooklyn based self taught artist JJ Pinckney, starts his artistic journey a few months after finishing up a career in Divsion 1 collegiate sports. FoundWonder was shortly birthed after spending some time researching the lack of artistic programs and resources in communities of color nationwide. From that moment a mission was created to seg-way underserved communities the opportunity to express themselves through grass root community collaboration. FW hails a studio space in the heart of Crowne Heights BK. Select artist are honored each year with opportunity to practice in the studio through the artist in residence program.

JJ's multidisciplinary artist approach has shown great success in just a small amount of time. Evolving quickly into his practice the voice within his work speaks to observe expressions of identity, social justice and freedom.Specifically amplifying the rampant cultural disparities to the world, regardless of sensitivity, only regarding the truth through storytelling" The voice within his paintings have been compared to contemporary acts such as Picasso, Da Kooning, Jean Michele Basquiat, Norman Lewis, Noah Davis,

"Close observations of the subject is my process. Some of my subjects are quite beautiful, others less so. Under no condition can a story be denied life or exploration"
